teresa crespo hartendorp's (tch) story
plays out like a Hollywood cliche:
immigrating to the United States at age seven,
growing into a working actress by age seventeen,
starting on a multi-faceted career path spanning
nearly thirty-five years in the entertainment field.
Working steadily in theatre, film and television, tch
sought even more outlets for her artistic expression. Though appearing in an Academy Award winning film,
and an Emmy Award winning television series,
tch found her autonomy moving behind the scenes.
Writing, directing, acting, shooting, editing and even composing the score of her own projects,
puts tch in the realm of a true auteur.
In front of the camera, tch's resume includes, but is
not limited to, NAILS (Dennis Hopper, John Hawkes);
OUT OF THE DARK (Bud Cort, Divine); SESSION MAN (James Remar: Academy Award, Best Short 1992);
HOUSE DOWN THE STREET (James Le Gros); the multi-Award winning CHINA BEACH ; the Ace Award winning 6 MINUTES; and the internet episodic ALIENDOG.COM;
and LIFE IN THE LAFF LANE (John Hawkes).
Teresa has also starred in numerous commercials;
music videos including Lionel Ritchie’s HELLO,
Michael Jackson's THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL,
and from the Grammy Nominated Original Soundtrack GHOSTBUSTERS, Mick Smiley's MAGIC.
On stage, tch had her first taste of theater in Ebbe Roe Smith's original play O.D.: OtherDimentionalists, and
has since starred in shows (L.A.) at The Stella Adler,
The Cast Theatre, Celebration Theatre, On The Fringe, Griffith Park Theatre, LACC Theatre Academy,
LA Women's Theatre Project, Palomar Performing Arts, San Diego Fringe Festival, and The La Jolla Playhouse.
Behind the camera, teresa crespo hartendorp
is a fiercely independent, one woman film company
having made numerous full-length films, music videos,
and documentaries including
THE PEOPLE OF PEACE: A Message From The Hopi, hArmOny & mELOdy, vigilantette, and the short film
'shE smilE prEtty', the last which made it’s debut
at the LAWTP Women In The Arts Festival.
Despite an overabundance of creative talent,
tch considers herself primarily a storyteller. “It’s really
all about the story," she says, “stories that convey
the spectrum of human emotion; when souls kiss
and transform."
In a musical project 'tch SOLO', Teresa performs on stage as a guitarist and singer/songwriter, currently recording an album of original songs, continuing the story…
